Privacy Policy

Effective date: May 23, 2026 · Last updated: May 23, 2026

RebootDoctor.com ("we," "our," "us") is a remote computer repair service operated by Idle Account LLC, a Colorado limited liability company located at 2000 S. Colorado Blvd. BLDG 1-2000-#9, Denver, CO 80222, United States. This Privacy Policy describes what personal information we collect when you visit our website, message us, or use our remote repair services, how we use that information, and your rights under U.S. state laws (including the California Consumer Privacy Act, "CCPA") and the European General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR") if you are an EU resident.

If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use our website or services.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide Directly

  • Contact information: name, email address, phone number when you message us via WhatsApp, email, or any contact form.
  • Service-related information: a description of the technical issue you're experiencing, your computer's operating system version, error messages, and any screenshots or files you voluntarily send us to diagnose the problem.
  • Payment information: we do not store full credit card numbers on our systems. Payments are processed by third-party providers (PayPal and/or other PCI-DSS-compliant processors) who handle and tokenize card data on their own infrastructure.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Server logs: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, date and time of request. These are kept for up to 90 days for security and abuse-prevention purposes.
  • Cookies: see our separate Cookie Policy for details. We use one essential session cookie and (only after your explicit consent) Google Analytics 4 cookies.

1.3 Information Collected During Remote Repair Sessions

During a remote screen-share session, our technician sees what is visible on your screen — the same content visible to you. We do not store screen recordings, do not access files that aren't open on screen, and do not read saved passwords. After the session ends, all technician-side session data is purged. We may keep a brief written log of what was diagnosed and fixed for our internal records (typically 12 months).

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To respond to your inquiries and deliver the remote repair service you requested.
  • To send service-related communications such as session confirmations, payment receipts, and follow-up satisfaction surveys.
  • To improve our website, content, and service quality (aggregated and de-identified analytics only).
  • To prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access to our systems.
  • To comply with legal obligations, court orders, or lawful requests from regulatory authorities.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not engage in cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not share your data with third parties for their marketing purposes.

3. Third-Party Services We Use

The following service providers process limited data on our behalf:

  • Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) — anonymized website usage analytics. Only loaded after you accept our cookie banner. Google Privacy Policy.
  • Ahrefs Web Analytics (Ahrefs Pte. Ltd.) — cookieless, privacy-focused page-view measurement. Sets no cookies and collects no personal identifiers, so it runs on all pages without a consent gate. Ahrefs privacy policy.
  • WhatsApp / Meta Platforms Inc. — message routing when you contact us via WhatsApp. Subject to Meta's privacy policy.
  • Payment processors (PayPal, etc.) — payment authorization and settlement only. They never receive any non-payment data from us.
  • Hosting infrastructure — Oracle Cloud (Ubuntu/nginx) for serving our static website. No personal data is stored on our hosting infrastructure.

4. Data Retention

  • Server logs: 90 days.
  • Email and WhatsApp correspondence: 24 months from last interaction (then deleted unless legal hold required).
  • Payment receipts and tax records: 7 years (IRS requirement).
  • Anonymized analytics: indefinite (no personal identifiers retained).

5. Your Rights (CCPA — California Residents)

If you reside in California, you have the right under the California Consumer Privacy Act to:

  • Know what personal information we have collected about you, and the categories of sources, business purposes, and third parties with whom we shared it.
  • Delete personal information we have collected from you (with limited exceptions, e.g., tax records).
  • Correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information — we do not sell or share, so this is the default.
  • Non-discrimination for exercising these rights.

To exercise any CCPA right, email support@rebootdoctor.com with the subject line "CCPA Request." We will verify your identity (typically by matching the email address you contacted us from) and respond within 45 days.

6. Your Rights (GDPR — EU and UK Residents)

If you reside in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have the following rights under GDPR Articles 15-22:

  • Right of access (Art. 15)
  • Right to rectification (Art. 16)
  • Right to erasure / "right to be forgotten" (Art. 17)
  • Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18)
  • Right to data portability (Art. 20)
  • Right to object to processing (Art. 21)
  • Right to withdraw consent at any time (Art. 7(3))
  • Right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority

Our legal basis for processing is either your explicit consent (cookie banner, contact forms), the performance of the service contract you requested, or our legitimate interests in security and abuse prevention. To exercise GDPR rights, email support@rebootdoctor.com.

7. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS/TLS encryption for all website traffic, HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) with preload, restrictive Content Security Policy headers, and encrypted screen-share sessions (256-bit AES) during remote repair. Our hosting infrastructure runs on hardened Ubuntu servers with firewall protection and regular security patches. However, no method of internet transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please email us at support@rebootdoctor.com and we will delete it.

9. International Data Transfers

RebootDoctor is operated from the United States. If you are accessing our services from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S. By using our services, you consent to this transfer.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Effective date" at the top will reflect the latest revision. For material changes (anything affecting how we use your data), we will notify users with active service relationships via email at least 30 days before the change takes effect.
